ATM robberies have evolved. Individuals alter the ATM machine with a trapping mechanism to make unsuspecting victims believe their card has been swallowed by the ATM, all the while it is just waiting to be collected by the robber.

Several businesses including two jewellers and a motorcycle dealership have recently been defrauded by a con-man known as the "Gold Chain Man". Victims have described the man as approximately 1.8m tall, weighing about 110Kg with short greying hair and a "boep". The man is believed to be Mr. Charl V. Morris of origin George.
